What people are saying
Such a lovely home from home with everything you need for a relaxing stay. A great base to return to after days out sightseeing and meeting friends and family. The children enjoyed the swings and slide and saying hello to the cows in the back field! It had everything we needed but Nuala was very warm and welcoming and was happy to help with anything, we only had to ask but honestly, we couldn’t find anything we needed that wasn’t already provided!! This is top of our list to return to when the children are big enough to climb Croagh Patrick! Thank you, Nuala!

A magical place of peace and tranquillity. So relaxing, slept like a log. Water from tap is so good and makes a great cup of tea. The house has such a good vibe. I loved every minute staying here. Nuala our host is a real lady and so friendly and nice. Thanks Nuala. I look forward to returning again. The plants and trees around the house seem very vibrant & full of energy. The garden is lovely. Favourite time sitting outside with a cup of tea at night looking at stars and complete silence. No traffic noise, no light pollution. Blessings to all at Rockfield House.

Dear Nuala, You have a lovely little house in such a quiet and peaceful place – the land of my ancestors the MacCostello clan in the Barony of Costello. I have enjoyed being here and researching my family heritage. Many thanks.

Thank you Nuala for giving us such a warm welcome and providing us with all we needed to enjoy our holiday in your lovely cottage. We are said to be leaving but take some warm memories with us.

Thanks for a lovely stay Nuala. We really enjoyed exploring the West of Ireland once again and meeting up with the family. Lovely little cottage close to all amenities. We had a great family party.

A lovely stay. The house has all you need whilst giving a flavour of the real Ireland. We had a great stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Nuala was a great host – she checked we had all we needed without intruding – a lovely lady. A lovely cosy home in a great location for seeing family. We would recommend it highly.

Hi Nuala, Thank you very much for having us to stay in your beautiful cottage. It really was like home from home. I have already passed details onto a friend who is looking for a break and to visit friends not far from here. Many thanks

3 Bikers on tour from Scotland, Nuala is a great host that even dropped and picked us up from Charlestown just so we could experience the drink & banter in a local pub (Murry’s Bar). Rockview is very comfortable and peaceful, and the locals are all very friendly. Thanks for having us.

What a place! So welcoming, so warm and cosy and clean. A real treat after the hustle and bustle of Dublin. It was in the perfect location to visit family. The bath was amazing (I’m a bath lover and we only have a shower!). Both myself and Gerry would love to stay again. So thank you for giving us this lovely home for a week to de-stress and enjoy. All the best!

The Tipperary clan hit Rockview in April 2021. Nuala melted us immediately with a homemade Apple Tart. We were smitten with Rockview after that. She’s the kindest, loveliest host one could imagine. Thought Tipperary had it all. I was so wrong. Roscommon people are all nice and welcoming and Nuala is a prime example. By the way the cottage itself is fabulous and so lovely. All the comforts of modern homes but keeping it’s intrinsic rural ambiance. Will be back

We had a wonderful stay in Rockview House. The house is so cosy and comfortable with everything we needed. We were blessed with good weather and spent long evenings in the garden which is so peaceful and quiet. The location is so central and ideal for touring the beautiful sights of Mayo. Nuala was the perfect host and couldn’t have been more welcoming. It was a real treat, and we look forward to returning sometime soon.

We have been coming to Nuala’s since 1993 when she, her husband opened. Sadly he miss Richard who died in 1997 from cancer a young man in his 40’s leaving Nuala and four very young children. We come every year except for 2020 and top be back again myself, Janet and Charlie is brilliant. Our three children are grown up but we are still very close to Nuala and her family as they grew up together my three and Nuala’s four. We come every year and Nuala and her family give us a great welcome. We will always miss Richard. He was a huge loss.

We have had a lovely relaxing few days. Nuala was most helpful and the apple taret and milk in the fridge was a thoughtful touch on our arrival. The children enjoyed playing in the beautiful garden and this was a perfect base for us to explore Co Mayo. The teens appreciated having wifi too! Looking forward to returning again some day. Thanks for a most enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Rockview House is a lovely cottage and was a perfect house for me and my friends to stay in. Nuala was very accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed. The outside area is great and we liked sitting outside chatting. All of the rooms are well furnished, and we never needed anything. This is definitely a cottage that we will return to.

We had a great 10 days at Rockview House. The weather was amazing and the location is a great base for exploring the west coast of Ireland. A great home to relax in after a days travelling about. A fantastic quiet country location. Thanks to Nuala for being the perfect host and looking after us so well.

This is the quintessential Irish cottage in a lovely setting located in an area known as the "Gateway to the West" of Ireland. Clean and comfortable accommodations with all of the amenities of home that will easily sleep seven (7) people. Great place for a long stay and/or family reunion or getaway. The owner, Nuala is warm and friendly, who made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived and went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed in order to have a memorable stay. We came away knowing that we had had a true Irish experience.
